It gave the NBA a reason to get away from the 2-3-2 format. Honestly, the 2-2-1-1-1 format wasn’t bad until media members was crying over travel. That can easily be solved with a 2-3-2 format. Those extra 3 days from how the schedule was in 2014 are felt after seeing the first three rounds end in under 2 weeks or exactly 2 weeks.
